In this section you will find some of the most interesting plants and trees in the Tikal National Park.  Our criteria for selection was plants that were most important to the Maya, the ones found in more abundance around the temples and palaces and the plants and trees visitors will find more attractive because they are very different to the species you may find back home…

We hope you will enjoy this botanical section, which is by no means a compendium of all the vegetation found in and around Tikal.
