Helicopters are the best way to get to remote and otherwise innaccessible areas such as El Mirador. Some helicopters may hold up to 6 passengers and have sliding side doors for better filming and photographic opportunities, while smaller choppers are more appropriate for smaller groups... Visit www.miradorpark.com and sign up for the adventure of a lifetime... Climb La Danta, the largest pyramid in the world by volume, explore the first of all Maya cities and see the Maya jungle from the air ...

Welcome to our special tours section. More and more of our travelers want to explore just a little beyond the Tikal National Park's well marked trails and discover more of what our national park system has to offer. Venturing into the jungle with our guides on more adventuresome and physically demanding itineraries, you will enjoy a unique perspective of these unexplored sites in remote areas, for which you will need to be in good physical condition. You will climb Maya temples, go trekking through the jungle, enjoy a minimum of comfort and a maximum of a sense of communion with nature, something that is hard to find elsewhere in the world today... When night falls you will enjoy the amazing relationship between sacred symbolism and astronomy, both perhaps indivisible to the ancient Maya. (Archaeoastronomy tours are available only at some of the sites we visit).

On these tours you will have the option of having an expert archaeologist guide, naturalists or ornithologist and have access to a wealth of scientific information... Some of these tours are led by world renown specialists and are also fund raisers to continue their academic projects in the region.

A couple of these tours require some experience with horse back riding or the readiness to learn fast. We will need to know your age & level of fitness for all of these tours... For our helitours we will also need to know your weight and coordinate together with you what you will bring to the site, as your safety and that of our equipment and treasured team depend on working together on all the details... (Helicopter weight and balance is a matter to be taken seriously...)
